Games with the Hansons

Saturday night Tyler's family came out to Red Lodge for the rodeo. On Sunday they went to church at the branch and then came out to dinner. After dinner, Austin and I found out what serious gamers they are. It was super fun.

The Drive In....

Pretty much from the moment I arrived in Roberts, Montana Emma was talking to me about the drive in. She brought it up a couple of times. So Saturday night we decided to head to the drive in to see Eclipse (much to Tyler's dismay). Austin was surprisingly okay with seeing it. He all of a sudden seemed to become a Jacob fan. Man crush? Not sure. But it cracks me up none the less.

When we pulled into our spot I looked over and saw this truck. It made me laugh so I took a picture. What a crappy thing to have happen to your sign-truck.
After arriving with plenty of time to spare, we scoped out some carnival type rides there for the movie goers enjoyment. We decided to all by some tickets and try the big slide.
Kelsee, Emma & Tyler went first. The man in charge of the slide told me and Austin to watch, "the big guy" because he was going to get a lot of air on the last bump.
Sure enough Tyler a.k.a "the big guy" did get air at the bottom.
Come on Kels.....you can make it.
Even after he was given a fair warning by our friend the slide operator, Austin, in the ultimate show of manhood tried his darnedest to beat Tyler......
.....and he did. But was it worth it?
Answer: NO
Notice: it looks as if Austin is standing. He's not. That is how much air he got off the last bump. He couldn't do anything about it either because his feet were in the pocket thing.

Sometimes winning is tough too.....just ask the tail bone. We're pretty sure he cracked it, and if not that at least did some serious bruising.

Super graceful landings right?
The girls....
I have been told that I sort of lose control of myself in situations like this. Austin tells me I start giggling and clapping uncontrollably.....it all goes back to Disneyland.....I think I could live there.
After a second we realized holding hands might not be a great idea....Mostly because Austin had already hurt his tail bone. I cant believe he went down with me after the incident.

Austin trying desperately to slow himself down.
Settling in for the movie.....Austin with a very sore rear end. He just kept drinking Mt. Dews, maybe to dull the pain.
Thanks Emmy! What a fun idea.

July 3rd....Parade

We decided to go to the second day of the Parade. In Red Lodge there is a parade and rodeo on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Here we are waiting for the parade to start. The boys were a little bit behind us. My dad missed the parade completely. He doesn't love being around large groups of people. He just dropped the boys off and went to the hardware store.
Old Glory
My camera was off when this car drove by. I actually chased it down the sidewalk about 50 yards to make sure I could get a picture. What it looks like is exactly what it was. Just a car with four guys in it with a bear rug on top.
I just thought these little boys were way funny with their shirts off and everything.
Austin's favorite...the clydesdales. We were bummed because the Budweiser horses weren't there this year.

Home of Champions Rodeo

Mom and dad bought everyone tickets to the Home of Champions Rodeo. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite rodeos behind the Ogden Pioneer Days. It would have been fun to see Emma ride the flags....but the fourth was on a Sunday. Way to go Emmy!
Waiting for the Rodeo to start.
Luckily we didn't get rained on.
Kelsee and Tyler enjoying some cotton candy.
The current #1 bull rider. He was ahead of #2 by $30,000.00. I'd like to be that far ahead......
One of my favorite events.....the wild horse chase. Fabulous, I love, love, love it.
After the rodeo we decided some smores making was in order.
My studly man starting up a little fire for some fabulous roasting.
Dad relaxing his back after sitting on the hard bleachers for so long.
My beautiful youngest sisters, Emma & Kelsee.
Thanks mom and dad for taking us all to the rodeo. It was a blast. All in all a fun night for everybody.

4th of July Weekend....Kickoff

At the end of July, Austin was scheduled to go on a business training trip to California. He had a great idea. I would go to my parents house and then he would schedule his homebound flight to Billings so we could spend the 4th with my parents. So, June 29th I dropped Austin off at the Airport and headed to Alpine, Wyoming. I broke up my trip staying one night with Whitney and Aaron.
It's always fun to be welcomed by a friendly face.
Hallie loving, "Baby Brudder".
Kisses
Handsome little Dean. He is such a good baby!
Hallie enjoyed trying on my flip flops.
Whit and I decided to take a walk, we ended up having to call Aaron and rescue us. We hadn't expected so many mosquitoes.
Cute little munch-kins. I had so much fun hanging out with Whit and Aaron too.
I headed out the next morning up through Yellowstone. It was a beautiful drive. Coming out of the park towards Cody, Wyoming I came up and over a beautiful pass. There were waterfalls all over the place, the picture definitely doesn't do it justice.
It was actually a fun drive....despite the fact I was by myself.

On the Move.....again

Moving can get a little crazy to say the least. Our lease for our Winding Creek condo was up at the end of June. We had to decide whether to stay or move......moving is definitely not my most favorite activity.
Most everything had been stacked in the garage, but everything else had to be stacked on beds.
It became a little bit hard to motivate Austin once the US world cup game started.....and I did have to calm him down after they lost.
It was hard to maneuver around the kitchen with furniture everywhere, but somehow we managed.
It was a little crazy walking around on beach towels until the carpets dried, but it was a lot cheaper than paying someone else to do it.
